Then this simulation game offers you the opportunity to take on the role of a trader and practise marketing power plant capacities on the spot market. In this online simulation game, you market a CCGT power plant on the German day-ahead and intraday market. This is a fun way to gain valuable experience for your own job.

Session 1: Introduction to the German energy market

• Overview of the structure of the German energy system
• Introduction to the German electricity market and the products traded there
• A look at the processes on a trading day

Session 2: Introduction to the simulation game

• Explanation of the game, the processes and the user interface
• Clarification of professional and technical questions about the game
• Step-by-step instructions for a spot market game scenario
• Exercises on buying and selling electricity on the continuous intraday market

Session 3: Playing the game

• Marketing of a CCGT power plant on the German spot market
• Playing multiple rounds and different scenarios
• Discussion and results
